The Commando Spirit Appeal exists because our Royal Marines put their lives on the line for us and when they need help we want to ensure they get it.

By taking part in a Commando Spirit Series event you will be making a significant difference to the lives of Royal Marines and their families in need.

The Commando Spirit Series offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show your courage and take on an ultimate Royal Marine style challenge, experience a taste of Royal Marine training and be buddied up with a serving or former Royal Marine, who will provide you with encouragement and motivation.

You might not be able to be a Marine, but you will get a real feel for what it is like to be one.

LEARN FROM THE BEST

The opportunity to learn and develop skills such as teamwork, leadership and problem solving alongside our Royal Marines who have experienced some of the most arduous training in the world is something that just does not come along every day.

You will have the chance to learn from your Royal Marine buddies and get to learn first hand about the Commando Spirit qualities of Courage, Determination, Unselfishness and Cheerfullness in the face of adversity - qualities that will stand you in good sted no matter what your walk of life.

choose your time commitment

The Dunker and The Leap are ideal for those who want the thrill and accomplishment of a major charity event, but are unable to commit a huge amount of time to train for it. For example, there is no or very little pre-event training; needed for The Dunker; all the training and orientation you need is completed the same day you take the challenge.

For those that want to have a longer term goal that they do need to train and prepare for then The Yomp is for them! Unless you are especially fit, we recommend a minimum four month training period prior to taking part in Survive The Yomp.

an elite club

Taking part in Commando Spirit is a unique opportunity to experience something money can’t buy and take up an opportunity rarely offered to those outside the Royal Marines.

Alongside a select number of like minded individuals, you will be part of a brave band who will have stepped up to the plate to take on a Royal Marrine style challenge.

You will join the Commando Spirit Club and be invited to Royal Marine events and occassions rarely offered to civilians.

When you sign up you are taking on a dual challenge; facing the Commando Spirit test and raising funds for the Appeal. We can’t do either for you but we support you 100% all the way.

As well as the challenge itself, we also offer opportunities each year for you to focus your fundraising efforts including The Commando Spirit Comedy Nights and Commando Spirits Awards.

To motivate you when the challenge get’s tough you will have your own former or serving Royal Marine buddy and for the fundraising challenge we have hints, tips and tools from people who have raised serious funds for charity in the past, including Commando Spirit Founder, Sally-Anne Hunter, who has raised over £15M for charity over the last 20 years.

Those who have trod the path before you and completed the Commando tests and raised stonking loads of money for the Appeal will guide and encourage you.

Many of us have far greater fundraising capability than we realise. I have experienced this first hand and know for a fact that we can put this ability to fantastic use if we choose to do so.
