In 2011 there was 'The Dunker', then in 2012 it was 'The Leap' and 2013 it is 'The Yomp', and then the Series will start again with "The Dunker" in 2014 with a few other tests and challenges planned along the way too! And you can take part in one, two or all of the Challenges so long as you can reach the fundraising target for each. You will be trained and supported by your own Royal Marine buddy. You wil be supported in your fundraising by a team of expert fundraisers and be invited to Royal Marines events and occasions rarely afforded to civilians. And you will learn first hand about the Commando Spirit qualities of Courage, Determination, Unselfishness and Cheerfullness in the face of adversity. |

“The Commando Spirit "Escape" and "The Leap" are perfect for me and I am going to take on both. I have a busy life with no time to train but want to challenge myself and take on something unique with the WOW factor that will make my sponsors want to support me.” Natasha Brook-Walters | RBC |

You are amongst a troop of thirty (there will be three troops in all) about to take on the infamous Yomp; the gruelling 30 mile hike across rough terrain all Royal Marines have to complete as the final test before they earn their green beret. Mud, sweat and tears this is not for the faint hearted. Do you have what it takes to train for it, complete it and survive? Do you have what it takes to Survive The Yomp? Taking place in September 2013, a small band of brave participants, trained and supported by their own Royal Marine buddies, will aim, to Survive The Yomp - mirroring the famous 30 miler that tests the physical and mental endurance of every Royal Marine. Will you be one of the brave few to take part and raise serious sums for the Royal Marines Charitable Trust Fund?

Your helicopter crashes at sea. You sink upside down. Could you escape? Every Royal Marine Commando knows how to make an underwater escape. As part of their gruelling training to earn their green beret, they must survive 'The Dunker' - a simulator which recreates a helicopter crash at sea. It's so real - it's terrifying. In September 2011, thirty people took on and beat the Dunker raising significiant sums for the Commando Spirit Appeal. Do you have what it takes to join them when we repeat the challenge in 2014? |
